RICHARD & SAMANTHA (Curtis) WOOD

Richard Wood, son of Isaiah, and brother to Robert, Amos (and possibly Enoch Wood) arrived in the Elk Rapids area prior to the Civil War and located on the Wood Family Homestead south of Elk Rapids in Whitewater Twp.  The Richard Wood homestead was located between the settlements of Amos Wood & Enoch Wood.

Richard married Samantha (daughter of Josiah Curtis), who was a sister to Mrs. Enoch Wood (Matilda Curtis).
