PIONEER FAMILY - WILILAM DAY FRASIER FAMILY: 

William Day Frasier purchased 66 acres of land in Section 33 from the United States Government #3, Section 33, T29N, R9W in Elk Rapids Township on October 16, 1854. 

Children of William Day Frasier: Rufus Frasier (minor),  Edith (Amos Wood), Arville W. Frasier, Laura (Keeler), Charlotte (Alexander McVicar), & Hannah A (Hawley).

EDITH FRASIER: was born in Summerford, Ontario, October 3, 1829, and departed this life on September 3, 1900. She was a model wife (Amos Wood) and mother, a true helpmeet to her husband during the days of their trials and struggles, a faithful counsellor in all of his enterprises and undertakings and shared with him the prosperity which finally crowned their united efforts, at all times and under all circumstances displaying those noble virtues and gentle qualities which constitute the pride and glory of womanhood.

Juliette (Kaiser) Morrison, lived on the homestead next to the homestead of William D. Frasier and  indicated that both William Day Frasier & his wife, and two children all having died around the same time of influenza, were buried on the the original Frasier 66 acre homestead.  The burial site is located next to a very large and very old maple tree located on the property which is now owned by Richard & Shen Smith (Bokhara Kennels), off Elk Lake Road, in Elk Rapids Township.  As a girl she would visit the Frasier/Wood cemetery which was then surrounded by a wooden fence.  William D. Frasier, his wife and the two children died sometime after 1856, as a recorded document dated December 11, 1865, authorized Enoch Wood, guardian for minor heir Rufus Frasier, to sell any real estate possessed by said Rufus Frasier, a minor in Antrim County Michigan.

ENOCH WOOD, GUARDIAN OF RUFUS FRASIER, A MINOR TO AMOS WOOD: Recorded Confirmation of sale dated April 23, 1866, conveys an undivided 1/6 of 28 acres off North side of Gov. Lot 3, Sec. 33, T29N R9W to Amos Wood. - Consideration $40.00  (Edith Wood daughter of William Day Frasier)

LAURA KEELER TO EDITH WOOD:  Quit Claim Deed dated and ack. May 22, 1862, recorded Sept 1864 in Liber A of deeds, Page 508, conveys Gov Lot 3, Section 33, T29N R9W, (except 40 acres off south side sold to Arville W. Frasier), consideration $35.00

CHARLOTTE MCVICAR TO EDITH WOOD: Quit Claim Deed dated & ack. May 22, 1862.  Recorded Sept 1, 1864 in Liber A of deeds, Page 509, conveys the same description as (Laura Keeler to Edith Wood) consideration $35.00

HANNAH A. HAWLEY TO EDITH WOOD: Quit Claim Deed dated & ack June 2, 1866, recorded Dec 31, 1866 in Liber B of deeds, page 73, conveys 28 acres of north side of Gov Lot 3, Section 33, T29N, R9W amount $40.00

June 13, 1892, recorded Sept 17, 1892 in Liber 23 of deeds page 315 conveys as follows Com. at NW corner of Gov Lot 3, Section 33, T29N, R9W running S 16 rods, 13-1/2 feet, E 67 rods, N 16 rods,, 13-1/2 feet to N line of said lot, thence W to beginning consideration $100.00
