​Registration Notice for the Primary Election August 4, 2026
​
Monday July 20, 2026, is the last day to register in any manner other than in person at the Township Clerk's office for this August Election.
Clerk's Office is open Monday- Friday 9:00am - 3:00pm.
Also Saturday & Sunday August 1 & 2 from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Proof of Eligibility
To be eligible to register to vote you must be:
A Michigan resident (at the time you register) and be a
Resident of Elk Rapids Township for at least 30 days (when you vote)
A United States Citizen, at least 18 years of age (when you vote)
Not currently serving a sentence in jail or prison
(You can register when you are 17.5 years old, but you can’t vote until you’re 18)

Proof of Residency 
(if registering within two weeks of Election Day)

Documents must have your name and current address
(you can show a digital copy of these documents)

Acceptable Documents Include:
Michigan driver’s license or State ID
Current utility bill in your name
Bank statement
Paycheck or government check
Other government document
(you can show a digital copy of these documents)

Michigan Offers Early Voting and Absentee Ballots
 (but dates and hours may vary based on where you live)

Additional information
Michigan does offer voter registration on Election Day
in person at the Elk Rapids Township Offices
